Ok this is one of my pet peeves! I can't tell you how many times I've watched the internet marketing gurus promise to show you and me how to make millions just like they do. Well guess what. I'm reasonably intelligent. I've followed their instructions to the letter. So why haven't I made millions using their methods? Why haven't you? Why haven't 99% of the people who buy their courses and follow their work made millions yet?
In my opinion, there's a whole lot they're not telling us. So here's my list of the top reasons they're making millions and you're not:
They have years of experience in the business. I've never seen a guru who hasn't been around a while. Even the "new kids on the block" have prior experience in business, marketing, or other related things. Many of them have also been around for years and only see like "new kids" because they've only recently been propelled to the top.
Gurus tend to run in packs. Ever notice how the guru's all seem to know each other and how they all work together? Many of them helped the others get started and now they're all part of this clique that we don't have an invitation to. Additionally they all seem to be buddies so they're off playing golf or going to their kid's birthday parties together and I'm sure there's a bit of unofficial information sharing going on.
They have excellent mentors. I'd bet that most all of them had someone show them the ropes and work one-on-one with them, at least for a time. Now I'm not saying that some of them aren't self made or that you or I can't get in on the same deal. But in today's world it costs quite a bit of money to get close to the gurus and many people starting out just don't have it to invest.
They've had a lot of failures they don't talk about. For every block buster, million dollar launch there are many others that never get off the drawing board. In the business world that's just how it goes... not everything is a home run. But yet most of us jump into online business expecting to hit it big the first time out. Or at least cover our costs so we can keep going. But the reality is that in terms of sheer volume there are way more failures than successes. The gurus understand this and know when to cut their losses and get out before it costs them too much.
They use lots of outside resouces. Yes, some of them probably started out as one-person shows. But now that they've hit it big they have lots of help whether it be from employees, outsourcing, expensive software, automation, sub-contractors, or other means. There's a ton of work involved in creating products, testing, putting systems into place, orchestrating million dollar launchs, and managing it all. It doesn't even make sense to think that most people could pull it off alone.
They use multiple strageties. Remember if you're downloading their free report (or paying for a course) you're only getting a small piece of the whole picture. You can believe that these gurus have many, many strategies and tactics they use to implement their total marketing plan. You can also bet that this is dynamic... ever changing as the market changes.
They have lots of resouces to put toward their projects. Just as they use many resources, they also have many resources at their disposal. Because they're already financially successful, they think nothing of dropping thousands of dollars for coaching, consulting, and getting the latest, cutting-edge information. They also have a much larger amount than most of us for "testing" and probably consider a few thousand dollars to be an insignificant loss (whereas to many of us it could be devistating).
So there you have it... some of the main reasons the gurus make millions and we don't. This article isn't meant to discourage you though. It's my hope that it will inspire you, because now that you know why you're not there you also know some of the steps you can take to get there, right? I truly believe that you CAN be successful in your own online business too... in fact you may even make millions someday, just like them.
